BACCO CELEBRATES WORLD TELECOM AND INFORMATION SOCIETY DAY (WTISD) – 2016

Bangladesh has celebrated ‘World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD)-2016’ on 17 May 2016 along with other countries of the world. Bangladesh WTISD-2016 has focused on the theme “ICT entrepreneurship for social impact” in accordance with Resolution 68 and as endorsed by ITU Council 2015.

Jointly organized by Bangladesh Telephone Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Post and Telecommunication Ministry, the program was inaugurated by the Honorable State Minister of the Post and Telecommunication Division Begum Tarana Halim.

Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) was one of the participating organizations. The representative of BACCO stated, more than 40 call centers are working presently in Bangladesh and around 2,000 people are working in these centers. The upcoming ‘BPO Summit Bangladesh 2016’ was also highlighted during this exhibition.

Government/ semi-government organizations and private organizations/ enterprises, who deliver IT and telecommunication products and services, took part in the fair.
